Help and Inspiration from:

I wanted to show off a small project that I completed last week and thank a fellow blogger for her inspiration.
Karen at The Graphics Fairy has a wonderful blog with the best graphics and to beat it all, they are FREE...
I have used a few things from her website to create instant art in my dining room.
I am quite computer stupid  and I couldn't figure out how to get the name of my blog inside of the header.
Karen has tons of headers and backgrounds for blogs. Lots of blogs look the way they do because of her.

I was editing some photos in Picasa (free and also awesome) when I discovered  that you can add text on their basic fixes tab.
I was playing around with that when it occurred to me that I could do something with a header that I had downloaded form The Graphics Fairy.

I edited it on Picasa by putting the name of my blog in the center and tinting it on the effects tab. Voila! Problem fixed!

I am pretty proud of myself! I know this is pretty easy for some of you, but not me!

I was so thrilled I used it in another project.
I had some apothecary jars that i decided to put on my kitchen counter. I wanted to dress them up so added the French  words for flour and sugar.
There is no word for granola ( according to Google translator!), so that is in English.
I added a border from my print settings, then printed them out.
After cutting them out with my paper edgers, I put them on the jars....

I love the way it dressed them up!

I'll share my homemade granola recipe with you later. It is yummy and easy!

I am linking up with :

  1. Niec work girl!

**don't forget to become a follower of my blog for your chance at a $25 GC to Anthropologie!

  2. Good job! Way to go! Don't you just love it when you figure out how to do something on the computer? I feel like I'm such a dummy with one, and when I finally get something to work, I want to shout out! ;) Love how you've used the borders here, for both your blog banner, and the canisters. They all look fabulous.

  3. I love your jars with those labels! That was a great idea to use paper edgers on them too. They look fantastic!

I read and enjoy each of your comments, thanks for taking the time to share!
